Analysis of Students' Understanding in Using Rhetorical Moves on Thesis Abstract

This paper presents the study of rhetorical moves on thesis abstracts accounting students at Muhammadiyah University Bengkulu. The motive this research is to examine how far students' understanding in using their abstracts. Under qualitative descriptive method, 20 are taken randomly based abstract, which was being proofread Language Center Bengkulu, 2021. Data were further discussed light by Swales. Based results analysis, revealed different forms moves; highest sequence and frequency Move 3 (research method) 4 (results) 100% occurrences according Jhon Swales' concept. Furthermore, move 2 aim) has a higher frequency, it 80% occurrence. Unsimilar, 1 (situating research) 5 (conclusion) as smallest frequent due not correctly presenting some steps proposed To sum up, set out findings; mostly have followed 4.
